Uba Sani Distributes Over 900 Trucks Of Fertilizer To 220,000 Farmers In Kaduna

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has reaffirmed his administration’s strong commitment to agricultural transformation with the official flag-off of the 2025 Fertilizer Distribution Exercise.

The high-profile event, which took place at Murtala Square in Kaduna, saw the governor distribute 400 trucks of fertilizer to 100,000 smallholder farmers drawn from across the state. This latest gesture brings the total number of fertilizer trucks distributed under his administration to over 900, directly benefiting 220,000 smallholder farmers so far.

Described as a landmark initiative, the distribution effort places Kaduna as the only state in Nigeria with such a consistent and large-scale fertilizer intervention program aimed at strengthening food security, empowering rural communities, and advancing inclusive development.

Governor Uba Sani emphasized that agricultural transformation remains at the heart of his administration’s development agenda, noting that strategic support for smallholder farmers is essential to boosting productivity, reducing poverty, and ensuring sustainable livelihoods.

“Our objective is simple—support the real drivers of our agricultural economy, our smallholder farmers, with the tools they need to succeed,” the governor said. “We are building a food-secure Kaduna, and by extension, contributing to national food security.”

The event drew stakeholders from across the agricultural value chain, community leaders, and farmer cooperatives, all of whom commended the governor’s unprecedented commitment to rural prosperity and practical support for grassroots development.
