Trouble For Celebrity Contractor Tunji Olowolafe As Public Outcry Greet Details Of Mega Deals With Ex Gov Babatunde Fashola

There is a looming trouble for celebrity contractor Tunji Olowolafe.

Information filtering in to societynowng.com attributes this development to roaring outcry over unfolding details of big money contracts he executed under the administration of former governor Babtunde Fashola as Lagos state helms man.

Olowlafe defined as having a personal relationship with the former governor currently at the receiving end of reversal of public accolade is said to be the favourite ‘project executor’ of the ex political poster boy.

And this association now places him at the centre of unravelling public angst over unfolding disclosures of mind blowing costs of this and that projects.

Olowololafe’s company, Deux Project Limited is said to have executed the drilling of two boreholes at the Lagos House, Ikeja at a whistle attracting cost of N139million.

The revelation currently on the website of Lagos state Public Procurement Agency has it that the contract was awarded by the Lagos State Tenders Board in 2013.

Also unveiled is information that same year, Olowolafe’s company , Deux Projects Limited handled the relocation of cables belonging to the Power Holding Company of Nigeria at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital at the cost of N300million.

Equally awarded to Deux is contract for the facility management of the Lagos State University College of Medicine at N220million.

Other contract details that just came to the fore awarded by the government of Mr Fashola and attracting wide spread outcry includes

‘….N175m to replace the railings of a pedestrian bridge on Carter Bridge from Ido to Idumota with concrete railings. The contract was awarded to A Abicon Engineering Limited

…… , N640m for the reconstruction of a car park and other associated works at the Lagos House, Marina…. the N640m contract was given to Julius Berger Plc as part of phase two of the reconstruction of Lagos House where Fashola lived during his eight years in government

…. N619m on surface repair on Ajara-Erekiti-Iragon-Ikoga Road in Badagry Local Government.

…… spent N1.2bn on the construction of an unidentified multi-storey building in Onikan, Lagos.
… N1.6bn on the construction of a 48-bedroom hotel at Lagos State VIP Chalets, Badagry

…. N510m on the remodelling and equipping of the official residence of the state’s Chief Judge at 4 Thompson Avenue, Ikoyi, Lagos, according to the report.
…. N165m was spent on the construction of an 18-classroom block at Ajara Senior Grammar School, Ajara Badagry…..The same amount was also spent on an 18-block classroom at Community Senior/Junior Secondary School, Bayeku, Ikorodu.

However in the the midst of assertions that all the contracts were approved by the state house of assembly as well as public procurement agency, there are whispers of ‘possible investigations of the transactions’.

‘And that is where there is trouble for the likes of Mr Olowolafe…how do you justify do justify the drilling of two bore holes for N136m!’ a source queried

This development comes on the heels of talks of raging discord that in the political camp of decision maker Asiwaju Bola Tinubu that has turned his once upon a time favoured son, Babtunde Fashola an outcast.
