President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, as he marks his 71st birthday, praising his influence in faith, education, and philanthropy.
In a message released on Friday, the president described Oyedepo as “a towering figure of influence and impact in Nigeria, Africa and beyond” whose work since founding the ministry in 1982 has resonated across spiritual, educational, and economic spheres.
The President commended Oyedepo’s focus and discipline, noting that his ministry has grown into a global vision with measurable impact on infrastructure, health, and education.
He highlighted the establishment of Kingdom Heritage Schools, Faith Academy, as well as Covenant and Landmark Universities, which he said are deliberately structured to drive total human development with a strong emphasis on skills and entrepreneurship.
“You have built one of Africa’s most impactful Christian ministries from humble beginnings. Your steadfastness in the Word of Faith ministry is exemplary, birthing many ministries with resonating impact on key sectors of the economy,” the president said.
Tinubu also praised the role of Covenant and Landmark Universities in raising the standard of education, adding that their academic performance continues to compete favourably with other institutions across the world.
The nation’s number one citizen further noted Oyedepo’s contributions to nation-building through preaching and teaching values of faith, discipline, and service, describing him as “a pacesetter and symbol of a servant leader for many to emulate”.
He prayed for the cleric to enjoy long life, good health, and more wisdom to continue lifting individuals, families, and nations through the Word of Faith.
