Thoroughbred Thieves In The System Steal From “Sit – At – Home” Relief Packages Organised For “The Vulnerables” By Lagos Govt

It is disheartening information that is filtering out from the handling of the relief packages meant for the vulnerable in Lagos State during the sit at home ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari in the fight against Coronavirus also known as Covid-19.

Multiple sources confirm that the relief packages arranged by the Lagos State government have been halved or reduced to ridiculous quantity in many stances, especially in the “low-cost areas’ where it is most needed.

The Lagos State government made the provision – on the back of billions of naira from private individuals and corporate organisations – to alleviate the suffering of the vulnerables, especially the old people during the 14days period of no access to revenue and purchases.

Societynow.ng, however, gathered that thoroughbed thieves in the system are making a nonsense of the initiative with the ” barefaced stealing”.

This development has resulted in a backlash with may short-change beneficiaries taking pictures and making protest videos of what they got.

Societynow.ng gathered that the development has forced the government to “temporarily halt’ the process in the bid to review the procedure that allows the thoroughbred thieves in the system to operate with wanton abandon.
