This Is Not The Prince Adewale That We Knew – Friends Of Embattled King, Oluwo Of Iwo Cry Out

Friends of the Oluwo of Iwo Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi say all the behaviors attracting controversy to his person are strange coming from him.

‘’He was not like this before he became a King’’ a source stated emphatically to societynow.ng.

Societynow.ng gathered that Oluwo when he was known as Prince Adewale – before he became king – was generally considered a very likable person.

‘’He had his fun like every other young man but moderation was very important with him. And he was a calm and cool guy. He was miles from what he has become’’ the source insisted.

‘’I remember when he was in Ibadan just before he became king and there was a couple on the verge of break up, Prince Adewale as we called him then salvaged the marriage with words of wisdom and careful handling. This was a marriage people had given up hope on. That was the kind of person Oluwo was’’ a source stated.

The Oluwo of Iwo has, however, gone far and away from such a perception.

Since he became the King of Iwo (Osun state), Oba Adewale Akanbi has alienated himself from almost all those that helped him to the throne.

Before the latest scandal of the beating of a fellow king – Agbowu of Ogbaagba, Oba Sikiru Aderopo –  in the office an Assistant Inspector General of Police during a peace parley, Oluwo had been engulfed in actions that take away major points from his image.

The finer highlights of the Oluwo’s exploits since he took the throne include

He went to war and stripped high chief Abiola Ogundokun the man that validated his emergence as Oluwo off all his chieftaincy tittles.

Oluwo took Muslim leaders head-on and controversial hijacked their religious functions amid demeaning allegations of sexual advances.

He was caught on video presenting a rumpled poster taken out of his pocket to President Muhammadu Buhari at an event as his contribution to the President’s campaign.

Oba Adewale Akanbi was also caught on video talking about how to steal dollars from the United State of America’s foreign reserve using voodoo.

He ‘’ divorced’’ his wife via a public statement warning the public to be wary of dealing with her, and later accused her of a plot to poison him as an agent of one of those he is at war with,

Those that societynow.ng spoke with insist they find it hard to come to terms with the reality that the Oluwo is the same calm headed Prince Adewale they all got along with.

‘’I believe what is happening is beyond the ordinary, something as amiss. Something that is beyond normal understanding’’ is the summation of those who claim Oluwo was a man to be loved and admire before he became a king.
