Algeria has emerged the African champions for the first time since 1990 as the desert Foxes clinched the historic win over Senegal on Friday night in Egypt.

Despite the Super Eagles exiting the tournament at the hands of the eventual champions, Nigerian fans still trooped out en masse to watch the historic final.

A significant number of football lovers were at the This Is Naija fan parks to watch the finale of the biennial African football competition. These fan parks have become mini-stadia for the fans because of the stadium like experiences they provide.

This parks first came into existence in 2018 during the world cup when telecommunications giant MTN, decided to give the fans the ultimate viewing experience throughout the competition.

The parks returned with the AFCON tournament, enabling fans to fully express their love and passion for the beautiful game of soccer.

Baghdad Bounedja’s early first-half strike was all it took for the North Africans to return home with Africa’s premier football trophy — winning it for the first time in over two decades and the second time in Algeria’s history.
