“The Mountain Of Debts & Other Things My Wife, Ivie Is Trying To Hide In Attempt To Wreck Me, Send Me To Prison” John Edobor Unmasks Dirty Secrets Of Estranged Better Half Fighting Him Tooth & Nail In And Out Of Court
John Edobor, the man who was recently sacked by Zenith bank due to culmination of machinations of his estranged wife, Ivie and her backers continues his narration of what
Here is a link to his earlier revelations for background –
“She Said She Would Wreck Me, Imprison Me And Now I Have Lost My Job All Because I Loved Her!” John Edobor, Banker Accused Of Domestic Violence Against Wife, Ivie Cries Out
Though he is doing his best to look brave the pains torturing him can be seen through his mask. He is unhappy with where he has found himself.
I shifted my attention back to him ’That i can’t tell because i don’t know what she is trying to hide, because the fact is when i got married to Ivie, a lot of things that i know now were not actually out for me to know..’’
‘’Such as what and what’’ i sought specifics
Without adjusting his sitting posture or change in his voice level he replied instantly ‘’One as we speak, Ivie is married to another man, evidence of which i have here. His name is Benedict Jato’’ he provided the identity of his wife’s mystery second husband and continued ‘’ and as we she is married to two men, myself and Benedict..it’s in the document she used for NYSC and when she worked at Econet, that she even told them in that office that she was pregnant for that man that led to her sack, all these things are just coming out because of what has happened, a lot of people are now talking tom..a lot of things are now being revealed and i have a document to actually backed this’’ he stated emphatically.
He was slightly agitated with the last response. I tried to gauge his feeling- Anger with self for not knowing before hand or that stemmed from betrayal for his wife not telling?.
He took a slight pause and continued ‘’ Ivie worked with Stanbic IBTC and resigned when she was been accused and it was true, because i was called by a cousin of mine who worked that if i know what was good for my wife, the best thing was to quickly resigned otherwise she would be sacked..’’
‘’When was this? ‘’ I interjected ‘’This was in 2011’’ he stated and continued ‘’ because she was taking kickbacks..she worked as an administrative officer and she was taking kickbacks from contractors and as such the bank knew about it and now said she must be sacked.
‘’so when i got that information, i made her to write her resignation and i was the one that went to submit that resignation letter on that day and when i did that, i said despite all this Ivie is my wife, so what can you do after this..she said she wanted to go into diaper business
‘’You already had all your children?’’ i threw in
‘’Yes’’ he responded and returned to his line of line narration ‘’to start buying Diaper from the U.k and i asked have you done your survey, the market survey on this distribution you want to go into and she said well she has actually met some of her colleagues in the office who were doing booth to booth sales and all that, that she wanted to start small and i told her fine, but just try and carry out a research on it and let me know and a day later she said she has done a enough research and that she wanted to start with at least five hundred thousand naira and i gave her five hundred thousand to start small and grow and she did that and in 2011 to 2012, i noticed that the business was actually moving and i said if this business is actually going the way it, it means you have to expand and i gave her extra money..i had to liquidate my fix deposit, plus the money i borrowed from friends and colleagues in the office which i added up and everything came to about N8million and i gave ivie to inject into the business’’ he stated and wanted to continue but i interjected
‘’From N500,000 she grew the business to like how much before you injected this fund?’’
He responded immediately ‘’from all indication the business was growing because when we looked at our audit within a year he business came to about a Million and i said fine this business was moving…’’
‘’And you were willing to put all of N8million into it?’’ i cut in for clarification again.
‘’Ýes, because she said she wanted to buy more so that she can stock and so that may be during December period, she wouldn’t need to order when business would have been closed for the year..so’’
‘’The N8million, did you put it into the business at a go, in lump sum?’’ i sought specific clarification.
‘’No’’ he stated asserted and explained ‘’i gave her overtime, N3million here and N2million and it amounted to N8million…’’
I noticed his approach to my questioning. He wasn’t vexed by the interjections disrupting his narration, he just was just focused on getting me to understanding the situation at hand.
The food he ordered was abandoned, left on touched – it was already cold.
The societynowng.com team and his sister opted for water, save for his sister who has taken a sip all the ‘’orders’’ lay untouched.
We were all engrossed in the narration.
John continued ‘’ so in 2012, i told her we need to do audit, so that we can know whether this business is still making progress or not and i invited an accountant who is a tax consultant and the guy came, did audit and said that everything was okay and i said let’s do tax remittance which she actually obliged and we did in 2012 but between 2013..
I broke in again ‘’ When you did the audit, what were the findings ?’’
He responded ‘’The findings was that, it was okay’’
‘’In terms of what and what’’ i asked for a breakdown
‘’yeeesss’’ he dragged his first word to gather his thoughts and continued ‘’ in terms of profitability it was growing, in terms of parameters that i put in place like remittance of tax and all that, she was doing it which was okay by me’’
I caught in again ‘’ The business was in profit like what margin compared to money put in at this point?’’
A slight pause and responded ‘’when we did the audit, the business was like in a 10% profit margin compared to money we put in’’ he stated and continued ‘’ but in 2013, i noticed that the goods she said she was …
‘’Where was she operating from?’’ i interjected again
‘’From the house, i gave her a room in the house and the security house to store her goods. You know every now and then i look at the goods that she had..’’ he responded and started off again before i threw in another question
‘’she was doing the supple herself?’’
‘’Yes’’ he confirmed and provided explanation ‘’ but on weekends we do it together at times’’
He still hasn’t touched his food and water. His sister was tried to follow the exchange with rapt attention, but it was obvious she was tired. Her shoulders sagged, she couldn’t sit upright and the spark of the upbeat missing from her person.
The stress of the situation is certainly not only on John filtered across my mind.
‘’In 2013 i noticed that Ivie wasn’t willing to call the auditor again’’ John’s voice reminded of who the primary assignment was and i shifted full attention back to him ‘’ and i said the auditor is not even far from us, he stays in Ajah as well, why not get him to come and look at your books and it became on one story after another, i am taking children to school and i said from 8.am when you drop them at school till 2pm where they are through you are free and to call auditor you don’t even need to go there, all you need is a phone call..why is that a problem, and she kept saying i am trying to arrange my books and all that..because i bought books for her to be documenting her sales, sales day book, receipt and everything and i noticed she wasn’t forth coming and i kept on Ivie have you done your audit..have you ensured that the auditor came and she tell me, yes i am expecting goods and it was then that i said if you cannot call the auditor, i need a software and i spoke to my cousin, he is ate now..steve Ojewere
‘’And i told him, this is what i am going through in the hands of Ivie , do you have a software that if i plot it can tell what is exactly happening and he said yes, that..that was exactly what he used at his farm, best foods..and he said that was what he was using in his business that he can avail me the soft ware which he gave me and i asked ivie to give me a rundown of what he has, he cash at hand, in the bank, value of stocks let me know whether everything would jive and when i plotted it..the total sum, both the cash at hand and in bank did not amount to one million naira’’ he ended with a slightly raised voice in exclamation.
And continued with a lowered voice ‘’and i asked Ivie…’’
‘’Including the goods at home?’’ i threw in before he went further
‘’Yes’’ he affirmed and continued ‘’and the one she said she was importing because i asked, the one she said she was expecting where is the evidence to show that yes you actually purchased those goods? Stories, hen i am going to clear the goods, she kept on giving me stories upon stories upon stories and i was in a dilemma until 2014, one fateful day when on a Saturday some persons came to the house and that was very early and it was strange to me..’’
‘’Like how early’’ i threw in
‘’by 5.am in the morning’’ he disclosed and continued ‘’banging the gate, at the gate and before i could do anything she rushed out and went to see them said no no they were are customers and they’ve left..’’
‘’What were you doing when they came?’’ i wanted to know what slowed him down for his wife to beat him to the gate
‘’I was on my bed, i was still on my bed sleeping’’ he responded a bit defensively and continued with his normal tone ‘’the next weekend the same thing repeated itself and i said this is unusual, even if they want to buy goods, they don’t come this early and worse scenario they come by 7 or 8 am and i said i must know what is happening, before she gets up let me know who is outside and i got there i met two ladies and one man and i asked what is the issue and they were furious and i asked what is the problem and they said they want to see my wife and i said what for and they said my wife is owing them and she needs to pay them and this one said N2million, the other one said N1. Something million and this one said One million and i said what? This same woman that i just collected money from a friend and gave when she said she wanted to increase her stock, that she is expecting shipment and all that..i did not get what was happening and i was like, can this be real? It was then i said, can you give me little time and let me speak with her and i went inside and called her
‘’Ivie, this people are out there asking for their money did you borrow money from them and she said no she is the one that supplied them goods and they were supposed to pay her..she just twisted the whole thing and i said no, they said you are owing not that you supplied!..’’ he stated with heat.
Obvious mindful of the fact he was getting agitated, he took a slight intake of breath and continued ‘’ from that day’’ shook his head picked up the thread of the conversation again ‘’Monday became an issue, I got to the office, the lady i borrowed money from came and was telling me that i needed to because from Ivie’s calculation i actually told them she would be able to pay within a month once she
gets the goods she was expecting, that once she supplies, she would get the money and i repay and i said Amaka can you give me time to sort myself and she said she was giving me two weeks..’’
‘’How much was this particular debt’’ i enquire
‘’Amaka’s own was about one point something million and i have all the records here’’ he stated and brought up a list containing names and figures to it before continuing his narrative ‘’When i got home that day, a lady that worked for the Lagos state government and is retired and since she packed into the estate i have not set my eyes on her came to meet and said my neighbour, this is the first time we will speak and it is unfortunate she is speaking with me about my wife this time and not because we are neighbours and she said my wife told her that she had business she is doing and wanted money and said she was going to pay her back i two months time with interest and i said this becoming something else..
‘’How much was at stake?’’ i interjected
‘’6oo,ooo or something and i was dumb founded , i could not speak and i had to call ivie and i said Ivie, did you borrow any money from this woman and she said yes, and i said did you inform me and she said no and i said what happened and she said she needed money urgently that she wanted to add to her business and all that, i then asked Ivie please you know the other day in church General Eriagbon had actually called me to inform that you approached him to give you money and when i asked, you denied flat that you didn’t..
‘’How much did she ask from the general? I asked
‘’N1.5million’’ he responded and continued ‘’ ask for such money and i asked what is the problem and Ivie said well, em..she never did and i said that old man can not lie against you and well we moved past that’’ he ended that episode and moved to the next
‘’then another weekend, i was going for a training and i left my sister at home and my wife with the kids, so my sister was having her bath in the bathroom’’ he stated and amended before continuing ‘’according to my sister Ivie went to see somebody at the back to give her check, but unfortunately when i left home, it was the monthly environmental sanitation day and i had to leave early for my training but around 7.am i started receiving phone calls from my sister…my phone was on silent in the training hall and i was wondering why would this girl be calling be consistently like this..’’
‘’Which of your sisters?’’ i wanted to know to know whether the subject of discussion was the one seated with us but is answer proved otherwise
‘’My immediate younger sister, her name is rosemary’’ he clarified and went on ‘’ so i now took my phone, went out to answer the call..she was crying on phone that some persons were there and some had to scale the fence to come in and start banging on the door and shouting at her that when she opened the door, they dragged her outside and were shouting she was hiding Ivie and all that and my Kids were crying too and i said where are they and she said they were outside and i said let me call my brother sifo and i said Sifo, this is what is happening in my house right now please can kindly get some police guys and help me go there and Sifo went there and when he saw it was overwhelming, because the names of the people that actually came were Tolu, her husband and family members and Tolu claimed that Ivie was owing her N2.5million, She claimed she was owing the mother 300,000 and Tolu’s husband owed N1million and these are people we know and these were her own friends’’ he explained and brought out another document with names of creditors and debts owe to each name
Pointing at some names he explained ‘’all these mrs Bello elegushin are people she does business with, these are money lenders that she went to borrow money from’’ he explained, put the document back inside an office file and returned to his narration ‘’When i got back that day, i had to go and report the incident at Ogombo police station..this was after the police had dispersed the people before i came..so it has always being like that, even there was a incident on a Monday, Ivie told me that this lady Cynthia was owing her N3million whereas she was the one owing Cynthia N3million’.
‘’Cynthia work in …Victoria Island and i said if you say this lady is owing you N3million let her tell how she intends to pay back the debt so i can pay those i am owing, let her give me a date…where is her address, she gave me and i went to where Cynthia works and i got there and Ivie had gone ahead of me to pay the image that Cynthia was owing Ivie whereas it was other way round
‘’And when i got there i saw that Cynthia was bugged. Even when i spoke with her she said she doesn’t have money to pay me now and that is it..and i said if actually this person is owing she wont have the confidence to be talking like this but before i got t my office after two of us have left, i got a text from Cynthia she would want to meet me after work so the two of us can sit down and talk after work
‘’and we met that evening at Mega chicken at Ajah and she told me it was actually my wife that was owing her money and not the other way round and i said waow..so when i asked ivie see what cythia had old me..she could not deny it anymore…
