The Fight To Unseat Muzi Banire As APC National Legal Adviser Takes Fresh Turn
The fight to unseat Muiz Banire as the All Progressives Congress National Adviser has taken a fresh twist.
Deputy Speaker of the Lagos state house of assembly, Wasiu Eshinlokun- Sanni has taken the lead.
The state legislator has exhumed a 2015 legal suit against Banire to spear the plot to strip the latter of the title of National Adviser.
Eshinlokun has dragged Banire before an Ikeja Division of the Lagos High Court over alleged forgery of his purported withdrawal letter from the 2015 election into state house of Assembly.
Eshinlokun who represents Lagos Island Constituency 1 of the House of Assembly filed the suit with two other party chiefs , Babatunde Kehinde and Kazeem Olatunji.
According to information monitored on newspaltform premiumtimes they are asking the court to ‘’ declare Mr. Banire as unfit to keep occupying the office of the party’s National Legal Adviser owing to the forgery of the purported letter of withdrawal, series of anti-party activities and breach of several provisions of the APC Constitution.’’
This moves comes after the National Executive of the party overuled suspension of Banire from the party at the ward level.
Banire became subject of attacks from his party men at the state level for his hard stance against alleged imposition of candidates in the just concluded council election.
