Talks Of Gov Adeleke Joining APC Trend In Osun
has gained significant traction
There is a trending development in Osun State.
Governor Ademola Adeleke is being widely speculated to be on the verge of joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The claim has gained significant traction, drawing reactions from key political stakeholders across party lines, especially offline.
Adeleke, who currently governs Osun State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is seeking re-election for a second term in office.
His rumoured defection to the APC ahead of the 2026 Osun governorship election is believed to be based on a promise of automatic emergence as the party’s governorship flagbearer — a move that would sideline other aspirants and consolidate his path to contest under the APC.
This potential switch is said to have triggered diverse reactions within the Osun chapters of both the PDP and APC, as well as among residents across the state.
Adding fuel to the growing buzz, high-profile PDP defector Wole Oke on Saturday, July 5, 2025, posted a cryptic message on social media that seemed to reference the development.
The multiple term Federal House of Representatives wrote, “OSUN 2026! There is no other way. Don’t be surprised if it happens. The herbalism in me foresaw it. But if I were to be the DUKE 001, I would stay back in my club and fight like a man, instead of causing problems in my club and others. The move may be counterproductive. The Talisman from Cuba is waiting and watching.”
