Shina Peller Plans Another Senatorial Bid Under New Party

Sources say the Quilox Night Club owner has already begun preparations

Shina Peller wants to have another go at the Oyo North Senatorial seat 2027.

Sources say the Quilox Night Club owner has already begun preparations to actualize the aspiration that saw him leave the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2023 election.

Peller opted not to return to the Federal House of Representatives, instead making an unsuccessful attempt to wrest the APC’s 2023 Oyo North Senatorial ticket from incumbent Senator Fatai Buhari, who was seeking another term.

Undeterred by the outcome, Peller defected to the Accord Party, where he secured the senatorial ticket and contested the election.

However, Senator Buhari of the APC emerged victorious, extending his tenure in the Senate.

Available information indicates that Peller is planning a renewed bid for the same position—this time under the platform of a stronger political party.

He has reportedly moved to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which currently controls the Oyo State government.

“And, all things being equal, he would be contesting under the PDP,” sources say.

Peller is said to enjoy a close rapport with Governor Seyi Makinde, who not only plays a decisive role in determining the political direction of the PDP in Oyo State but has also become a major influence at the party’s national level.

Awareness campaigns for Peller’s senatorial ambition are said to have already commenced.
