Shady Insiders Flood Market With “Factory Error” Roofing Slates Of Popular Brand
“They were obviously marked for disposal”
A new scam is ongoing.
Unscrupulous insiders are flooding the market with factory-error roofing slates marked for disposal.
The roofing slates, which are the product of a popular indigenous company, bear red markings that distinguish them from the good quality the company is known for.
“They were obviously marked for disposal, but some shady insiders are passing them off as the real deal at very reduced pricing,” sources say.
Information at hand reveals that the rip-off started towards the end of last year and has grown to staggering proportions at press time.
“A lot of people are falling for the scam because of the price differential and are now biting their fingers,” according to those in the know.
The factory-error roofing slates are said to be almost exact replicas of those that pass quality control, except for the red markings on them.
“The real problem is that the fake ones break at will. They are very hard to work with and continue to break even after the work is finished. There is no peace of mind with them,” victims declare.
Industry insiders claim this anomaly is being experienced in parts of Lagos and Ogun
