Emerging details have it
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has sacked the Executive Secretary (ES) of the Teachers Service Board (TSB), Mr James Pine after he was convicted for assaulting the governor’s in-law.
James Asema, an in-law to Gov. Ortom and a staff of TSB had dragged Mr. Pine(pictured wearing cap) to court for assault.
Last week’s Thursday a magisrtate court found Pine guilty and sentenced him to five months imprisonment or an option of N10, 000 fine.
Magistrate, Dan Ogo handed down the judgement.
Following the conviction of Pine, the state government on Monday announced his sack in a statement the Acting Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Bem Meladu made.
“Ortom has, therefore, directed the termination of his appointment because Pine’s conviction by the court was an embarrassment to the governor, the government and the people of the state,” Meladu revealed.
