Presidency Investigates Death Of Suspect, Suleiman Yerima Over Dame Patience Jonathan’s $3.1m Campaign Fund
A quiet investigation is going on.
And the subject of this probe instigated at the instance of the Presidency is said to be about the sudden death of a suspect Suleiman Yerima in prison custody.
Societynowng.com learnt arraigned and undergoing prosecution for defrauding two bankers in naira for dollar transaction along with his partner, Uwem Antia fresh information made available to investigators into the sudden death traced the fund in question to former first lady, Dame Patience Goodluck.

According to information sourced from Punch the deceased alleged partner in crime claim the bankers they were alleged to have defrauded were actually acting on behalf of Dame Patience, wife of the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan.
Asserted Antia to punch “We handed over the outstanding amount of money to one of the bankers (Dennis) at the Murtala International Airport. I am well known to them. This is not the first of such contracts we would handle for them. They represent Mrs. Patience Jonathan, the wife of the former President and we have supplied them dollars on many occasions. When they approached us about the need to supply the dollars for Mrs. Jonathan’s campaign activities during the election, I told them we could handle it as usual. Unfortunately, they diverted her money this time.’’
Societynowng.com learnt Antia and Suleiman were arrested and detained for ‘stealing the sum of $2,25m from two bankers, Gladys Aginwa and Ale Dennis.’
The sum was the money they allegedly disappeared with before been arrested after handing a part payment $1m to the bankers in a N666,250,000 for $3,127,000 transaction.
The office of the President and Vice President got interested in the case after the death of Suleiman in prison custody on July 17, 2015.
His lawyers attribute the ‘sudden death’ of the man scheduled to reappear in court on November 9 2015 to aggressive torture.
The petition which brought the attention of the office of the President to development reportedly indicted the police and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in the build up to the tragic occurrence.
The agency in charge of the investigation, National Human Rights Commission – referred the case to by the Presidency- is said to be passionately and clinically looking at developments that led to the untoward happenstance and determine who and who are complicit.
Already executive secretary of the Commission, Prof. Ben Angwe is said to have led investigators to the Kirikiri, Lagos venue of the decease’s incarceration and untimely death – and recorded interesting findings as the case continues.
