Photos: Collapsed Bridge Forces Traffic Diversion On Katsina–Batsari Road

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the collapse of a bridge along the Katsina–Batsari route, a few metres after Salbak Filling Station near Shagari Lowcost, following heavy rainfall on Saturday night.

According to FRSC, the affected section has been closed to traffic after an on-the-spot assessment by the Sector Commander, CC Maxwell Lede, on Sunday. Personnel have cordoned off the area from both ends to ensure the safety of road users.

Motorists travelling from Katsina to Batsari have been advised to take Ring Road via Al-Qalam University, while those heading from Batsari to Katsina should use the Army Barracks–Jibia Road.

The corps urged drivers to avoid the collapsed bridge site, especially during the night or rainy weather, to prevent accidents.

It also called on the media to help raise public awareness, noting that road safety is a shared responsibility.
