Osun Guber: Mere Speculation — Omisore’s Team On His Alleged Disqualification By APC
as “unverified, misleading, and mere speculation
The Osun Rescue Mission Team, the group coordinating Senator Iyiola Omisore’s bid for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Osun state, has dismissed rumours suggesting that the former lawmaker and six other aspirants have been disqualified from the party’s screening process.
In a statement signed by Ajibola Famurewa, director-general of the team, the group described the reports—”circulating across some national dailies and online platforms”—as “unverified, misleading, and mere speculation”.
Famurewa said the leadership of the Rescue Mission Team is already engaging relevant organs of the APC to ascertain the true situation, adding that the values of due process, fairness, and transparency for which the party is known would guide every step taken.
He noted that while the rumour has caused anxiety among party members, supporters and the public, it should not be given further life through the spread of unconfirmed information. According to him, the matter is being “critically reviewed”, and the public will be fully briefed once clarifications are concluded.
Famurewa expressed appreciation for the calls, messages, and solidarity shown by supporters across the state, saying the widespread confidence in Omisore reinforces the team’s resolve to ensure truth prevails over misinformation.
The director- general urged all supporters to remain focused and maintain faith in the process, assuring that the issues in contention will be resolved and made public in due course.
