Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Monday received key figures from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The delegation was led by Sikirulai Ogundele, a former PDP chairman in the state, and Adekunle Abdulkabir Akinlade, a former member of the House of Representatives and ex-deputy governorship candidate of the PDP.

The visit has sparked speculation about  what they are planning with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Also in attendance were Ekelojumati, Olowo Fuja, and grassroots mobilizers from different local government areas.

The meeting was held behind closed doors and described as cordial.

Governor Abiodun thanked the group for the visit and said the APC remains open to collaboration aimed at maintaining peace and development in the state.

“This is not just about politics. It’s about working together to ensure progress and stability for the people of Ogun State,” the governor said.

Speaking on behalf of the visitors,  Ogundele commended the governor’s leadership and said their visit was a step toward aligning with the APC.

Akinlade also noted that the group was interested in contributing to ongoing efforts to move the state forward.

A formal declaration of their decision is expected in the coming weeks.
