Niger Govt Lures Investors With Free Land, Other Perks
to attract more investment and accelerate socio-economic development
Niger state government is taking bold steps to attract more investment and accelerate socio-economic development across the state in line with its new Niger Agenda.
Farmer governor Mohammed Umaru Bago stated this at the inauguration of Salid Shea Butter Processing Plant in Kudu, Mokwa Local Government Area of the State.
Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago explained that his administration is willing to offer free lands and also help in cropping raw materials for all investors willing to invest in agro business in the State.
He affirmed that Niger State is ready to accommodate more investors by also giving them tax relief all geared towards
creating jobs, empowering women, and enhancing socio-economic growth and development of the state.
The Commissioner for Investment and Trade Aminu Takuma described the establishment of the Shea plant as a remarkable milestone journey towards agricultural and industrial transformation adding that, the inauguration of the plant is a symbol that policies of the government is achievable with the involvement of the private sector.
He said, the Ministry’s mandate of creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive has been yielding positive results through the support of the farmer governor who has implemented policies such as tax reliefs, streamlined regulatory processes and infrastructural development which have been able to sustain investments in the State.
The Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of traditional rulers, Yahaya Abubakar who described the processing plant as a life changer for the benefitting communities however charged them to own the factory by ensuring its safety so that it will continue to add value to their lives.
The Executive Director, Salid Shea butter processing plant, Daniel Alabi said the processing plant was borne out of the desire to harness the abundant agricultural potentials of the State and empower local communities and contribute meaningfully to the economic advancement of the country.
The Salid Shea butter processing plant in Kudu, Mokwa Local Government is estimated to produce 100 metric tons of Shea butter per day and projected to produce 30,000 metric tons annually
