Move Your Structures From Right Of Way – Bayelsa Orders Ahead Road Construction

“with immediate effect”

The Bayelsa state government has issued a major warning to those that have encroached on its right-of-way as contractors prepare to move to site.

The warning given on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, reads…

This is to inform the general public that Government wants to commence the construction of Glory Drive Phase III which starts from Etegwe-Amassoma Road to Onopa and the Government House with a spur and bridge to link Imgbi Road; and that compensation has been fully paid up to Onopa which covers a width of 100 meters while compensation for the spur to Imgbi will be paid as soon as possible.

However, it has come to the notice of the Bayelsa State Government that developers have started encroaching on Government right-of-way. Government hereby directs any individuals acting in contravention to evacuate their structures from the right-of-way “with immediate effect” as the contractor is already mobilising to site.

However, for further clarifications, contact the Bayelsa State Ministry of Lands and Survey or the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure.

Do have the assurances of the best regards of the Prosperity Government.

Signed: ESV Moses Teibowei, Honourable Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure
