More Aspirants Emerge In Battle To Succeed Gov Rauf Aregbesola As Iyiola Omisore & Backers Consider Moving To Another Party To Seize Power
Outside of Deputy House of Representatives Speaker, Lasun Yusuf and Senator Isiaka Adeleke, other individuals termed ‘’serious with their ambitions’’ have surface in the battle to succeed Governor of Osun state, Rauf Aregbesola.
The legally allowed two terms of the Osun Chief Executive Officer lapse next year – 2018.
And intrigues and political manoeuvres on who becomes or determines the next governor of the state is labelled ‘’ intense’’ at press time.
The outgoing Governor faces passionate opposition in and out of his political party, All Progressives Congress in bid to determine his successor.
Contenders to the throne in same party with him, Deputy Speaker Lasun and Senator Adeleke are said to be working on their own scripts.
And recently surfaced aspirants Moshood Adeoti, the Secretary to the State Government and Peter ‘’Power’’ Babalola, a major grass root support puller are said to be towing paths outside of the interests of the governor as well.
Adeoti and Babalola are also members of the same political party as Governor Aregbesola.
Outside of the APC, sources disclose powerful politician Iyiola Omisore and his backers are considering moving out of crisis ridden People’s Democratic Party to achieve the objective of taking over the government of the state in the next gubernatorial election.
Omisore, who just quitted lifelong ambition to govern Osun state, is said to exploring option of plugging his support into a new political party- and backing a candidate of choice to actualise his dream by proxy.
He faces serious opposition within his current party at the state and national level.
Also a person of interest of the present administration, it is not clear who his ‘’proxy’’ is.
