Meet 70yr Old Leader Of Lagos Caucus In House Of Reps

Across political divides, Lagos state has twenty-four (24) federal lawmakers in the new Federal House of Representatives.

Seventeen (17) of them have been appointed chairmen of standing committees.

All the House of Representatives members from the state, irrespective of party affiliations. operate under the emblem “Lagos Caucus”.harness “the gains of democracy” at the national level for their base.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that leader of the Lagos Caucus is 70-year-old Akanni Enitan Dolapo-Badru.

The January, 30 1953 born is a ranking federal lawmaker from Lagos Island.

Dolapo-Badru succeeded the more popular Jumoka Okoya-Thomas as the House of Representatives member from Lagos Island in 2015.

The founder – and chairman – of DOLBAD Insurance Brokers secured re-election in 2019 and the latest general election in March 2023.

Before he contested for the position of House of Representatives in 2015, the holder of Master of Business Administration was as Special Adviser for Youth and Social Development to then Governor Babatunde Fashola for 8years.

This was after a previous appointment – from 2003 to 2007 – as Special Adviser in the administration of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the Governor of Lagos state.

Since he became a House of Representatives members, he has been credited with sponsoring bills that include the National Mathematical Centre Act (Amendment) Bill of 2016,, the Elderly and Vulnerable Persons Bill of 2016] and the Government Infrastructural Continuity (Establishment) Bill of 2017.
