Mbah Talks On Setting Up Enugu Economic Planning Commission
“will assist us in delivering our ambitious programmes”
Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Governor of Enugu State has provided insight the setting up of the Enugu State Economic Planning Commissing.
The Governor inaugurated the commission today, July 7, 2023.
Explaining the composition and objectives of the Economic Commission, Governor Mbah explaied “Earlier today at the Government House, I inaugurated the Enugu State Economic Planning Commission. This is a creation of the law designed to create a platform for exchange of ideas and sharing of knowledge. It is geared towards forging a new partnership for the growth of Enugu State economy and the benefit of our people.
This commission will be chaired by me. Members include: the Deputy Governor, Chairmen of the 17 local government councils, Commissioners or Representatives of the Ministries of Health, Works and Transport, Finance, Commerce and Industry, Agriculture, and Works and Transport, and Permanent Secretaries responsible for State Budget and Planning, Rural Development and Water Resources, and the Primary School Management Board.
“I’m hopeful that a structured collaboration with the local government will assist us in delivering our ambitious programmes in areas such as rural infrastructure, education, healthcare, electricity, water, and sanitation.
I therefore implore members of this commission to put in their best to ensure that our goals are achieved.”
