Like Predecessor, Lagos Council Boss Dies in Office
Like his predecessor, a council chairman in Lagos State has passed away while in office.
This is the fate of Oladotun Olakunle, who succeeded Babatunde Oke as Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in 2020.
Olakunle, who was the Vice Chairman, became the number one man with the untimely demise of Chairman Oke.

Four years later, on Saturday, November 2, 2024, Olakunle gave up the ghost as the serving Chairman of the LCDA – like Oke.
While Oke died Covid-19 complications, Olakunle’s death is attributed to brief illness.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu described Olakunle, who saw out Oke’s tenure and was elected for a fresh four-year term in 2021, as a loyal party man and committed democrat.
The governor spoke in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile.
