Lawyers Ready Musiliu Obanikoro’s Bail Bond As Ex Minister Prepares To Get Out Of Detention

Emerging details have it, all things being equal, former minister Musiliu Obanikoro should be out of detention early next week.

Insiders disclosed that the bail bond for the immediate past Minister of State for Defence currently in custody of anti corruption agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is being perfected.

This development comes on the heels of fulfilment of the primary conditions for his release.

His family is said to have finally paid the initial N100m out of the N785m arms deal corruption charge hanging on his neck. Sources confirmed the former minister struck a deal with investigators to pay back all the money traced to diverted arms funds linked to him – to avoid prosecution.

”Investigators agreed with him the repayment would be staggered..the first payment was the N100m that has now been paid” a source disclosed.

Societynowng.com gathered as at late Friday October 20 2016 through Saturday October 29 2016, his lawyers were working hard on perfecting his bail bond.

”They really wanted him to get him released on Saturday but couldn’t meet up with the paper work” an insider revealed.

Societynowng.com his handlers have now faced the obvious option – work towards the release of the minister as soon as possible next week.

”So all things equally, he should be out Monday or latest Tuesday” a source divulged.

Informants claim the former minister though taking all that is happening in good faith is said to be keen to get out of detention and resume his ”way of life”.
