Just Decorated “Sun Man Of The Year”, Gov Ibikunle Amosun Faces Workers Protest Over Non Payments Of Salary, Broken Promises
Saturday February 18 2017, Governor of Ogun state Ibikunle Amosun was decorated with the Man of The Year Award 2016 by national publication, The Sun.
He was honoured for ” his developmental strides” at the event which held at the Expo Convention Centre of the Eko Hotels and Suites Victoria Island Lagos.
But workers in Ogun state appear not to share The Sun’s enthusiasm for Governor Amosun’s style of administration.
They accuse the just decorated governor of failure to pay ”October” salary and refusal to fulfil agreements and promises that resulted in the call off of an industrial strike staged last year – 2016.
And they have planned a state wide protest to express selves.
The protest scheduled to hold on Wednesday 22nd February, 2017.
According to information available, labour leaders are currently mobilising workers in the state to report Nigeria Labour Congress Secretariat in the state by 7a.m for the fixed date for the planned protest.
Governor Amosun attended the The Sun Awards in company of his beautiful wife, Olufunsho.
Dignitaries at the event include fellow awardees, Governor Nyesom Wike (Governor of Year), Aminu Bello Masari (Courage In Leadership), Rasaq Akanni Okoya (Lifetime Achievement ) and others.
