Politician, Jim Nwobodo has been ordered out of his Abuja home.
And this development is the fallout of inability to meet a two years rent bill- (June 1,2009 – May 31, 2011) which amounts to N11m.
The owner of the property which is defined as a 6 bedroom mansion with one bedroom guest chalet and two boys quarter had instituted a court action at a Federal capital territory High Court to secure payment.
This reportedly came on the heels of multiple attempts to get Nwobodo to pay up.
And the court had delivered judgement in favour of the landlord on March 3 20015.
The judgment granted all the requests of the landlord including the ejection of Nwobodo from the property.
The property in question is described as located on Plot 768 Cadastral Zone A5, Maitama Abuja- and the landlord entangled with Nwobodo revealed as Adin-Miles International Limited.
Outside of his sack from the Abuja resident, the court ordered the former governor to pay the N11M debt that brought about the case and all arrears up till the time of judgement.
The rent fee from 2011 till March 2015 time of judgement is pegged at N458,333 – Four Hundred and Fifty Eight thousand naira, three hundred and thirty three naira.
Also included in the cost awarded against the former state head man is a fee of N3m or renovate the property for the landlord.
Inkling of what might have sparked off the load of unpaid rent was reportedly provided in the course of the trial, in 2008 – Alhaji Al-Mustapha Abubakar, the man who initially leased the property to Nwobodo put it up for sale.
Nwobodo claimed he showed interest in acquiring it, but the current landlord allegedly induced the former one to outwit him!
