Insiders Reveal Timeline For Ending Ogun Ogun APC’s Multi-Headed Crisis
quiet but far-reaching plan is already unfolding
Top-level party sources have hinted at when the multi-headed crisis rocking the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will finally be put to rest — and the timeline points to early next year.
“Everything indicates the first quarter of next year, with a strong foundation to be laid in December,” an influential party figure disclosed.
Insiders confirm that a quiet but far-reaching plan is already unfolding to end the tensions unsettling the ruling party ahead of the 2027 elections.
The initiative — driven directly by President Bola Tinubu — is code-named harmonisation.

Under the arrangement, all existing factions are expected to be “collapsed” into a unified Ogun APC structure.
Former Governor Olusegun Osoba, whom President Tinubu fondly calls “Uncle,” has been drafted to lead the reconciliation effort.
At present, the party machinery is firmly under the control of Governor Dapo Abiodun and his loyalists.
This dominance has sidelined other power centres with deep grassroots influence, including former Governors Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun, as well as Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi).

Daniel and Amosun remain openly at odds with Abiodun. Persistent whispers also suggest a quiet cold war between the Governor and Senator Adeola — despite Yayi’s repeated denials and his crucial support during Abiodun’s 2019 and 2023 election victories.
The Abiodun–Daniel feud is especially heated, with reports indicating that the Governor is eyeing the Ogun East Senate seat currently occupied by Daniel. Abiodun’s long-running rift with Amosun has gone quieter but never quite disappeared since Amosun’s failed attempts to stop him in 2019 and 2023.
Meanwhile, Yayi is widely viewed as the leading contender to succeed Abiodun in 2027. But talk has grown that the Governor may be considering another option — a development that continues to stoke speculation within the party.

These overlapping rivalries have produced a web of conflicting interests that now threaten cohesion as 2027 approaches.
“But President Tinubu has activated a reconciliation process that will resolve everything,” another insider explained. “The plan is harmonisation through political understanding and horse-trading. By the end of December, significant groundwork would have been completed, and the full settlement should take shape in the first quarter of next year.”
The move aligns with Tinubu’s directive that APC chapters nationwide must head into the 2027 elections united. For the President — who will be seeking a second term — ensuring internal peace across states is central not just to his re-election but also to strengthening the party’s chances of taking more states in the next electoral cycle.
