In a bold move to address the concerns of the people, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and his cabinet met with protesters in Yola on the second day of demonstrations.
The Governor listened attentively to the grievances presented by the protesters and acknowledged the genuineness of their demands.
By taking the time to engage directly with the protesters, Governor Fintiri, who was represented by SSG Hon. Auwal Tukur, demonstrated his commitment to open communication and his willingness to work towards finding solutions to the issues raised. The Governor called on the federal government to rejig his policies to address the hardship
The meeting between the Governor and protesters has set a positive tone for continued dialogue and collaboration, paving the way for meaningful reforms and progress in the state.
Earlier in their separate remarks, leaders of the protesters, Comrade Abdullahi Isa and Daniel Godwin, appealed to the federal government to bring back fuel subsidies and address the current hunger.
They appreciate Governor Umaru Fintiri for the laudable programmes in the state and assured that as leaders, they will ensure none of their members destroy government or private properties.
