How Obasanjo’s Valuables Were Saved In Fire Outbreak At Abeokuta House

Societynow.ng gathered that but for spirited efforts by neighbors and sympathizers the entire Abeokuta, Ogun state residence of former President Olusegun Obasanjo would have been razed by fire.

Details available revealed that there was a fire outbreak attributed to a power surge at the Ita-Eko, Abeokuta residence of Obasanjo yesterday – Wednesday, February 12, 2020.

The fire incident started at the store of the house identified with Obasanjo before he became president.

‘’ And it was confined to the place thanks to spirited efforts by good samaritans’’ societynow.ng learned.

The information available revealed that domestic workers at the former president’s house raised alarm and called for help when the fire started.

‘’The alarm and call for help attracted neighbors who were joined by other sympathizers to contain the fire before the arrival of firefighters who put it out’’ societynow.ng learned.

The ‘’civilians’’ battled with the fire for about thirty minutes and restricted its havoc to the story before the arrival of the fire service.

Societynow.ng learned that the fire outbreak started at about 9.30p,m and the fire firefighters arrived at the scene some minutes after 10.p.m.

‘’The valiant efforts of the domestic workers, neighbors and other sympathizers played a major role preventing the fire from razing the whole house and that is without taking away from the vital role played by the firefighters in putting the whole affair to bed’’ a source stated.
