Societynow.ng gathered that though they stand with him publicly, strong allies of Speaker Mudashiru Obasa in the Lagos State House of Assembly refused to sign the letter that demoted two principal officers and demoted two other members.

Societynow.ng gathered staunch backers Tunde Buraimoh (Kosofe 2), Oluyinka Ogundimu (Agege1) and Bisi Yusuf (Alimosho 1) refused to append their signatures on the letter announced the ‘’controversial action’’ against their colleagues.

This development aligns Speaker Obasa’s backers with the man said to be eyeing his seat Wasiu Eshinlokun- Sanni (Lagos Island 1).

Other lawmakers who refused to sign the suspension and demotion letter are Sanai Bolanle- Agunbiade (Ikorodu 1), Sanni Okanlawon (Kosofe 1), Ibrahim Layode (Badagry 1) and Sylvester Ogunkelu (Epe 2).

Societynow.ng gathered that the fact that, except Eshinlokun- Sanni, all the other lawmakers that refused to sign the demotion and suspension letter owe their current status to the machination of Senator Bayo Osinowo better known as Pepper added fuel to talks of a rift between Speaker Obasa and the Senator who is believed wield a strong influence in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The State House of Assembly with Mudashiru Obasa as Speaker on Monday, March 9, 2020, removed two Principal Officers: Hon Olumuyiwa Jimoh, Apapa 2, Deputy Majority Leader; and Hon Rotimi Abiru, Somolu 2, Chief Whip while two other members: Hon Moshood Olanrewaju Oshun, Lagos Mainland 2; and Hon Kazeem Adewale Raheem, Ibeju Lekki 2 were suspended Indefinitely.
