Heavyweight Boxer Henry Akinwande “Throws” Cousin In Prison Over N58 Million Fraud

Popular Boxer Henry Akinwande is very upset at the moment, a source in the know just confirmed to societynow.ng.

According to available information, the wealthy sportsman’s anger is directed at one of his cousins who recently played a sharp practice on him.

An investigation by societynow.ng revealed the name of the cousin as Ayoade John.

Ayoade John is said to have handled some property deals for the one-time heavyweight boxing champion but allegedly failed to remit proceeds of the transactions.

Findings revealed the British born boxer invited the police to investigate his cousin.

After drills by the operatives of Nigerian Police for days Ayoade was taken to court on allegations he defrauded the boxing champion to the tune of 58 million Naira, a reliable source told societynow.ng.

Digs by our reporter revealed Ayoade is standing trial in a Lagos court where he has pleaded not guilty to the allegations brought against him.

The court of law granted him bail in the sum of N2.5 million with two sureties.

The judge ruled that he should be remanded in prison custody.

Until he meets bail condition, a family source at the hearing volunteered.

Sources divulged Ayoade is still battling to meet the bail condition handed him by the trial Judge.

“The N58 million at the center of the controversy is proceed of some properties Ayoade helped Akinwande to sell a couple of years back”, an insider confided in Societynow.ng.

Further digs revealed that the sale of a landed property estimated at N48millon and a number of house fittings valued N10 million are actually the subjects of the ongoing litigation.
