Gov Aregbesola Surrenders!

Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has surrendered one of his political ambitions.

Insiders disclosed he has shelved plans to become a Senator in Lagos state.

He initially had the ambition to become Senator representing Lagos West – his political base in Lagos.

But sources disclosed as he fights tooth and nail to ensure he installed a successor of choice in Osun, he has his eyes firmly fixed on another objective.

“But its no longer a senatorial ambition” a source stated emphatically.

Insiders claim Aregbesola’s next task – after exiting position of Osun Governor – would be helping Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consolidate political power in Lagos state.

Tinubu’s vice grip on the politics of the state is being systematically unclasped by re-election seeking Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

And as Tinubu is kept busy with “assignment of reconciling warring parties within the APC at the national level” societynow learned Aregbesola – a very trusted ally of Tinubu – is needed in Lagos to help checkmate rising opposition against the political leader in his stronghold.

Even as incumbent governor of Osun state Aregbesola remains a power broker in Lagos state.

It is also instructive to note that based on “advice” from Asiwaju Tinubu , Governor Aregbesola’s intends to install the former Lagos governor’s stepbrother Gboyega Oyetola as own successor in Osun state.

“Aregbesola won’t be contesting elective post before the tasks he would be undertaking for Asiwaju and the political family requires full focus and very important to a larger plan” a source stated
