Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has declared his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, vowing that the people of Gombe would follow the President “to the battlefield blindfolded” because of his transformative leadership.

Yahaya made the declaration in Gombe on Saturday during the groundbreaking ceremony for the state’s 184-hectare Agro-Livestock Industrial Zone, a major development project backed by the Federal Government with an initial N60 billion investment from the Tinubu administration.

Describing President Tinubu as a leader with vision, courage, and genuine concern for the people, Yahaya said the impact of Tinubu’s policies and programmes has been deeply felt across sectors, especially in agriculture and livestock development.

“For what he has done, is doing, and will do, Gombe people will follow him to the battlefield blindfolded. We will work for his success in 2027. By God’s grace, his re-election is assured,” Yahaya declared.

The governor praised the Tinubu administration for its unprecedented support of the livestock sector — a vital economic driver in Northern Nigeria — saying no Northern leader in 47 years of power had committed as much as the current President.

“If not for a President who loves his people and has the capacity and will, this transformation would not have happened,” Yahaya said. “No Northern leader in 47 years of power considered investing ₦120 billion to transform the livestock sector, despite it being a predominantly Northern industry.”

The Gombe Agro-Livestock Industrial Zone, he explained, is a game-changer for the region. It will feature an ultramodern abattoir, international livestock market, fattening hubs, tannery and leather factory, grains and feeds market, and an inland dry port — all designed to promote safe, large-scale animal processing and boost economic activity across the value chain.

“This automated facility will enable hygienic, efficient, and globally compliant processing, packaging, and distribution, serving domestic and international markets,” the governor said.

He noted that the zone is expected to significantly improve productivity, create jobs, reduce import dependence, and enhance foreign earnings from livestock-related commerce.

Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Maiha, who also spoke at the event, echoed Yahaya’s sentiments, saying the project aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and commitment to rebuilding Nigeria’s agricultural economy.

He revealed that when completed, the facility would be capable of processing 500 bulls, 1,000 small ruminants, and 3,000 poultry birds daily — a massive boost to Nigeria’s meat production and export potential.

Governor Yahaya concluded by assuring Nigerians that although current economic reforms may cause temporary hardship, they are laying the foundation for long-term prosperity. He expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership to deliver “better days ahead.”
