The case against Elisha Ishaku Abbo, the Senator from Adamawa has been postponed.

This development is as a result of pleas from the Prosecutor that the court allows time for more investigation.

Senator Abbo is accused of beating up a nursing mother in an Abuja based sex toy shop.

The release of the video of the assault by premiumtimes.com in an exclusive report on the incident resulted in public outrage, widespread condemnation, and demand for the prosecution of the Senator.

The police subsequently charged Abbo to court.

But the case is yet to trial as the investigators continue to plea for more time to gather facts.

The latest shift in the case came up today as the Magistrate Court, Zuba, Abuja adjourned the case till August 20, 2019, on the heels of the plea by the police prosecutor to allow for more investigation into the case.

Abbo was reportedly physically present in court for the case.

The embattled Sensor is battling a two count charge of criminal use of force and criminal assault was initially arraigned on Monday, July 8, 2019.

He pleaded not guilty to charges and was granted a N5million bail.
