has stepped out for the first time after being released
Ifeanyi Okowa, the former governor of Delta State, has stepped out for the first time after being released from detention.
Reports of his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) drew significant public interest.

The anti-graft agency had allegedly detained the former governor over a case involving N1.3 trillion fraud.

However, Okowa’s recent public appearance suggests he is no longer in custody.
On Sunday, November 17, 2024, he attended an event where Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri was also present. Okowa posted the pictures on Monday, November 18, 2024, with a narrative that read:

“I had the pleasure of attending the 5-year remembrance of Late Deaconess Magdalene Zipuamere Egukawhore, mother of High Chief Emonena Victor Wayles Egukawhore (JP), at Patani yesterday.
It was wonderful to reconnect with my good friend and brother, Bayelsa State Governor, His Excellency Governor Douye Diri.”
