Societynow.ng gathered that Lagosians are making brisk business as the sale of face masks shoot up.

This development is directly linked to the spread of talks that Corona Virus has been confirmed to be in Lagos state.

The government confirmed that the virus was brought into the country by an unnamed Italian on a brief visit.

The government also confirmed that the carrier has been put in isolation and it is ‘’on top of the situation’’.

The checks by societynow.ng revealed that the sales of face masks have shot up as the corona virus story spread.

Enterprising Nigerians have hit the streets with all kinds of medical face masks for the citizens to buy as part of efforts to keep safe.

Wearing of face mask is one of the ways to prevent the communicable disease that is caught through inhaling of the breath or related substances from an infected person and other means.

Some of the face masks sellers are said to have thrown in sale of suits made – in a crude way – with local nylon to help buyers prevent body contact with others in public places.

Societynow.ng gathered that all manners of ”ingenious” business ideas to milk the situation in the name of ”prevention” are coming to the fore.

The government also released certain steps to help the citizens keep safe.

The steps are

1.  Regularly and thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water, and use alcohol-based hand sanitiser.

2.  Maintain at least 1 & half metres (5 feet) distance between you apnd anyone who is coughing or sneezing.

3. People coughing persistently or sneezing should stay indoors or keep a social distance, but not mix with a crowd.

4. Ensure that you and people around you follow good respiratory hygiene by  covering mouths and noses with a handkerchief or tissue while sneezing or coughing. You can also sneeze or cough into your sleeve at the bent elbow. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately.
