Double Trouble For Ogun Gov Dapo Abiodun As Taxi Drivers Protest Increased Price Of Petrol In State Capital

Emerging details have it that Taxi drivers are protesting in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.
Societynow.ng gathered that the protest is about the increase in the pump of price of petrol from N143.80 to N151.56 per litre and the Ogun State Government’s decision to limit Taxi Drivers to not more than three passengers per trip in the fight against Covid-19.
Information at hand revealed that the aggrieved Taxi drivers grouse is that they will run at a loss with the increased pump price of petrol.
‘’They are arrested for taking more than three passengers per trip, so they are demanding that the Governor allow them revert to full capacity to make their business sustainable’’ societynow.ng.

Sources disclosed that the Drivers refused to take passengers as engage in a protest drive around the state capital, parking at roadsides and causing huge traffic to force the government and public’s attention on their grouse.
‘’They headed for the governor’s office in Oke Mosan at about 3.00 p.m’’ a source disclosed.
The checks made by societynow.ng revealed that this development comes barely twenty-four (24) hours after the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Ogun State issued a 14days ultimatum to the Governor to meet its demand or face industrial action.
The NLC is demanding the payment of negotiated new minimum wage amid other things.
