Deji Falae’s Widow Gets N246M Compensation Over Husband’s Death

The verdict is out.

After about five years legal battle by the widow and children of Deji, the son of former Minister Chief Olu Falae has secured an N246million compensation against Associated Airlines and the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority.

Deji’s wife and children had sued the airline operator and industry regulator for the plane crash that sent her husband and father of her children to the great beyond on October 3, 2013.

Deji and twelve other passengers lost their lives in the crash that occurred near a fuel dump located at Murtala Muhammed Airport.

The plane was carrying the remains of former Ondo governor Olusegun Agagu to the state capital, Akure for burial.

Ese and her children sued the airline and NCAA for complicit in the death of their breadwinner.

And the Federal High Court – sitting in Lagos – hearing the case has ruled in favor of the Falae’s and ordered payment of the N245.5 million compensation to Ese and her children.

Fair judge justice Hadiza Shagari handled the case.
