Deborah: Celestial, Catholic Churches, Others Set Ablaze
Deborah Samuel was beaten to death and burnt
Emerging details have it that churches have been set ablaze in Sokoto over the arrest of suspects in the extra-judicial killing of Deborah Samuel.
Some of the churches are Celestial Church of Christ Parish 3, a Catholic church and a building of the Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA.
According to emerging details, the private residences and shops of those who spoke out against the “murder” were also vandalized.
Confirming the burning of the Celestial Church, Senior Clergy Akossou Severin posted the pictures along with the message “Confirmed that Celestial Church of Christ Parish 3 Sokoto was burned but no lost of life. May God continue to be with us in Jesus name. Amen”

Deborah Samuel was beaten to death and burnt by Muslim extremists for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammed (SAW) on Thursday, May 12, 2022.
A video of the tragic incident with her killers gleefully claiming responsibility was released on social media.
Three of the suspected killers were arrested in the face of public outcry on the evening of Friday, May 13, 2022.
In the morning of Saturday, May 14, 2022, a protest demanding the release of the arrested suspected killers by their Muslim sympathizers erupted in Sokoto.
The protest spiraled into attacks on private properties and the burning of churches.
Governor of Sokoto State Aminu Tambuwal ordered a 24-hour curfew to curb the mayhem.
