Dapo Abiodun’s Aide Declares Gov Next Occupier Of Gbenga Daniel’s Senate Seat
“Incoming Senator, Ogun East Senatorial District by God’s grace,”
Emmanuel Ojo, Senior Special Adviser to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, has openly declared his principal as the “incoming senator” for Ogun East, the seat currently occupied by former governor, Senator Gbenga Daniel.
“Incoming Senator, Ogun East Senatorial District by God’s grace,” Ojo posted on social media on Friday, August 22, 2025.
Reinforcing his message, Ojo added: “Na from Oke Mosan to National Assembly in Abuja” — a clear signal that Governor Abiodun is eyeing a direct transition from his second term in office to the Senate in 2027.

This declaration marks the first explicit confirmation of Senator Daniel’s repeated accusations that Governor Abiodun is scheming to take over his seat at the National Assembly.
The rivalry between the two political heavyweights dates back to 2020 and has since evolved into a full-blown supremacy battle.
The conflict reached a boiling point recently with the indefinite suspension of Senator Daniel by the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a structure firmly under Abiodun’s control.
Daniel’s camp has since alleged that the governor is also masterminding a plot to recall the sitting senator from the Senate — a claim that gained fresh weight with Ojo’s latest declaration.
Notably, Daniel has yet to issue a public reaction to either his suspension or the alleged recall plot. But the timing of Ojo’s proclamation — barely 24 hours after Daniel’s camp raised fresh alarm — underscores the deepening political hostilities within the Ogun APC.
