Hospitality maestro Folorunsho Folarin Coker is returning to the scene with a bold new venture — Casa45, an afroluxury destination created in partnership with Ahmed Uhwubetine, founder of Club 1145.

The project brings together two names that once defined Lagos nightlife — LaCasa and Club 1145.

Their collaboration is already being described as the fusion of superpowers in the wider tourism industry, anchored by Coker’s pedigree as a pioneering former Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA).

“Casa45 will be the largest entertainment space in the Victoria Island ecosystem, with offerings for Ultra High Net Worth Individuals and the aspirational elite,” an insider revealed.

Widely regarded as the capital of Nigeria’s entertainment culture, Victoria Island will now host Casa45, envisioned as a global meeting point for leaders in oil & gas, real estate pioneers, international jetsetters, boundary-pushing creatives, influential diplomats, and the new generation of young billionaires.

Discretion, culture, and secure luxury are at its core, insiders disclosed.

Its restaurant will feature a rotating menu of signature Nigerian dishes, served across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with overnight service on weekends.

According to sources, Casa45 is set to debut during Detty December, a festive season that Coker himself helped put on the global map.

As Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture under Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Coker launched the One Lagos Fiesta in 2015 — a decentralized, citywide festival staged across all five divisions of Lagos.

“The popularity of One Lagos normalized large-scale, high-energy December festivities. Private promoters quickly built on that momentum, creating what is now known as Detty December,” stakeholders affirm.

The success of One Lagos Fiesta paved the way for Coker’s appointment as Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) in 2017, with his tenure extended in 2021.

He later became the pioneer DG of the NTDA, where he helped remove systemic hurdles, open doors for public-private partnerships, and push tourism into a new era.

After bowing out in March 2025, Coker maintained a low profile until Casa45 began to surface. Now, many in high society expect the project — in partnership with Uhwubetine — to set new benchmarks in luxury, hospitality, and Nigerian tourism.
