Wife of the President, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, at the weekend treated wives of heads of diplomatic missions in Nigeria to a cocktail at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, where she pledged support for all their initiatives and activities aimed at promoting “beneficial relationships” between Nigeria and their countries.

Mrs. Buhari who only last month launched her twitter page identified one of the biggest challenges facing women and children in Nigeria as access to healthcare services.

According to the Media Director in her office, Mallam Zakari Yau Nadabo, in a statement yesterday, Mrs. Buhari also told the envoys’ wives that they had a special role to play in promoting social and cultural images of their respective countries.

According to her, “Future Assured”, her pet project, was designed to spearhead advocacy for the promotion of the health of vulnerable and marginalised people in the society.

Wife of the Brazilian envoy, Mrs Elza Lima, who spoke on behalf of her colleagues, said Mrs Buhari’s initiative would strengthen relations between Nigeria and their countries.
