Senator Ahmed Lawan has emerged the Senate President.

Lawan beat main challenger Ali Ndume to become the President of the 9th Senate.

Ahmed Lawn polled 79 votes against 28 secured by Name.

Both Senators are members of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

The Senate operated a secret ballot system to determine the Senate President.
