After Selling Parents Home For N10m To Fuel A Life Of Drugs & Girls, Bishop’s Son Jehu Kwasu Defrauds Pastor David Oyedepo, Ndubuisi Kanu, Oba Otudeko, Aminu Dantata Others To Continue Pastime
…inside the strategy that made prominent men part with their money
Jehu Kwasu is the son of late Anglican Bishop James Kwasu.
But the similarities in the way of life he has chosen and what his father spent a life time propagating are kilometres apart.
The Bishop’s son is an extravagant partaker in a life of drugs and girls.
And his addiction with his chosen lifestyle is such that he reportedly sold off his parents’ home in Kaduna for N10m to fuel a way of life his father was at the forefront of opposition.
He turned to fraud targeting prominent names and playing on sentiments of need to alleviate the suffering of the needy to continue with his pastime.
According to information available the son of the late Bishop brings his tales home to his targets by posing as a ‘’religious leader’’ the targets have heard off but do not have personal interaction with.
He reportedly devised this means after frauds in the name of his late father and other leaders of the Anglican faith went awry and earned him a prison sentence.
According to information available he was arrested and imprison after for after complains and police established he was impersonating Bishop Steven Akobe of the Anglican Diocese, Kabba Kogi State.
The move is said to be at the instance of church leaders tire of his image denting tactics after repeated attempts to resolve the matter ‘’in house’’ in bid to protect the memory of his family and the faith.
Though he was later granted bail the move was reportedly meant to curb his nefarious activities of soiling the name of the Anglican faith and his family by those concerned.
But later events proved the attempt only pushed him out of familiar terrains of the Anglican faiths – he stated using the names of other religious leaders to achieve his aim.
According to reports monitored on Punch he is currently serving prison sentence for defrauding other men of God and prominent Nigerians in the name of Bishop Mathew Kukah of the Catholic faith.
His ploy was to stream a tale of wanting to cater for internally displaced persons on phone to his chosen targets.
He has a dedicated bank account for funds to be sent after carefully avoiding pit falls of that would require face to face meetings in discussions.
According to emerging details the graduate of political Science claimed ‘’ “I collected N500,000 from Otudeko, CEO, Honeywell: From Admiral Kanu, I got N500,000. I also got N500,000 from Bishop Oyedepo and N2m from Dantata. I also got money from Gen. Wushishi and others’’
The Bishop’s son turned fraudster claimed to have realised about N5.7million in his latest illicit endeavour but police disclosed only N1.7million was found in his account.
He is believed to have expended the difference on life on the fast lane.
Jehu now admitted to Keffi Prison for a Two Months term also detailed how he was able to effectively pass off as Bishop Mathew Kukah to his wealthy targets.
Information available revealed he played up two major enquiry deflectors, identities on the phone number and the bank account.
According to Jehu ‘’ “I called people on the telephone and told them I was Bishop Kukah. I used his picture on my True Caller account, so that when I called people, they would think he was the one talking with them.
“I also obtained a passport in Bishop Kukah’s name which I used to open an account with GTB. The money I realised was paid into the account and I used an Automated Teller Machine card to withdraw it.”
Added information sourced from Punch revealed Jehu ran into troubled waters when the original Bishop Kukah was alerted to what was going on and he petitioned the police.
The police after initial investigations asked the bank to ‘’place a “no debit order” on the account.
The Bishop’s son making a living through the grief of others reportedly turned up at the bank to complain inability to access funds in his account and was arrested.
