Tony Elumelu’s Wife, Awele Tells Things That Make Him Happy On 60th Birthday

Awele, the wife of extraordinary entrepreneur Tony Elumelu has revealed the things that are very dear to him.

The medical doctor and chairperson person at Avon Medical Practice made the revelation during the celebration of the 60th birthday of the founder of heirs holding, the family-owned investment company committed to improving lives and transforming African Economy.

“Very dear to his heart are his entrepreneurs” the co-founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) disclosed at the 60th birthday symposium in honor of the chairman of Nigeria’s largest quoted conglomerate, Transcorp whose subsidiaries include leading electricity producer, Transcorp power and foremost hospitality brand, Transcorp Hotels Plc.

“His Entrepreneurs” are the alumni of the TEF, the foundation catalyzing economic growth, driving poverty eradication and job creation across Africa since it was founded by Elumelu in 2010.

“Tony didn’t want to celebrate his birthday”, his better- half stated and further disclosed that it took bringing in the TEF entrepreneurs into the equation to convince one of Africa’s leading investors and philanthropists.

The birthday symposium titled “60 For 60” had 60 beneficiaries of the foundation that has catalyzed nearly 16,00 entrepreneurs across Africa in attendance. They shared their inspiring stories at the event held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

“Your being here is something that makes him happy, what you are achieving is something that makes him proud, fills him with hope for the countries you come from, for the continent…those that here and those not here” Doctor Awele directed at the entrepreneurs.

Some of the TEF-Entrepreneurs in attendance came from Nigeria, Cameroun, Gambia, Congo, and other parts of the continent

The event which had in attendance past and present directors at pan – African financial services group which operates in 20 countries across Africa, the United Kingdom, France, the UAE, and the United States of America – the United Bank for Africa (UBA),  with Elemelu as Chairman, also witnessed revelation about what type of man the celebrant is at the home front.

“He is always busy in the office but he would never not have time for us in the house, never” the wife of the founder and chairman of Heirs Oil and Gas, the rated upstream oil and gas company asserted.

Two of the major highlights of the birthday celebrations were birthday wishes from the Elumelu’s children and former United States President Bill Clinton – aired on video – in the course of the symposium.

President Clinton particularly commended Elumelu for his giant strides.
