Why You Must Listen To ADP Flag Bearer “BOG” Gbadamosi In His Bid To Become Lagos Gov

Babatunde Gbadamosi is very serious about becoming the governor of Lagos state.

And his seriousness is exemplified in the depth of his preparation for the number one position in the state.

The Governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party is so prepared that he is a walking encyclopedia of his plan to rescue and transform Lagos state.

BOG, as fondly called in a recent chat, provides reasons why Lagosians should give him the much-needed opportunity to provide a better life.

Familiar with the pains and challenges the residents and business owners have to contend with, BOG already has in place the blueprint to tackle the traffic and road problems, crippling tax challenges, food insecurity and power crisis and virtually all hitches that have become thorns in the lives of Lagosians.

The top real estate developer – he is the chairman of Redbricks Home International – at a recent engagement unveiled plans to boost the revenue of the state outside of the multiple taxes wrecking havoc on the businesses and the people’s earnings.

“We will eradicate multiple taxations” BOG stated emphatically at a recent engagement while making special reference to the pains of hoteliers and leisure spots owners under the tax regime of political structure that has held on to power in the state.

Hoteliers – and all leisure spots operators – are forced to pay double taxes on goods they buy and consumed at their business places amongst other things.

“We will remove all these taxes to encourage people to do business” the ADP gubernatorial candidate stated emphatically and explained that rather than reduce the revenue of Government this would – in the long run – increase revenue with the boost it would give to entrepreneurial spirits, along with the inherent advantages.

To his credit, BOG also disclosed plans to tap into the natural endowments of the Coastal areas as well as tap into the tourism potentials of about 27 islands that litter Lagos in the bid to boost tourism.

Insisting that tourism is a huge income earner, the ADP gubernatorial candidate in Lagos insists lip service is being paid to the development of the sector – especial tapping into the natural endowments of the Coastal region by the current holders of power.

“Do you know Lagos is sitting on the valuable oil” he asked and explained “but not crude oil but coconut oil”.

BOG disclosed that Coconut oil is now a rising high-value product across the world based on the inherent advantages, especially as research has shown it is very useful in the treatment of Alzheimer.

“We will go on an aggressive production” the candidate stated in another major revelation of another huge income earner for the state.

Detailing the hellish experience he had while attempting to beat traffic in an overnight travel that saw him leave Victoria island at about 11.30 pm and arrive Badagry around 5,30 am, BOG insists inflation of costs of works done on federal roads is the cause of the horror Lagosians are experiencing.

The gubernatorial candidate insists attempts by the inconsiderate holders of power in Lagos state to rip off the Federal Government is the reason why permission has been withheld for repair works on affected federal roads and commuters continue to suffer.

Gbadamosi insists the consideration for the welfare of the people of Lagos state would be the top priority for his government.

He also provided insight into how food security would be achieved with the Green House Project.

The ADP gubernatorial candidate revealed there would be a partnership between government and residents for houses in Lagos state to have earmarked areas for farming.

According to BOG – amongst other things – the output would protect the state from threats of withholding supply of agricultural produce from the state by any region.

While admitting power – electricity – is a major issue in the state, BOG says the real problem in that sector is the distribution channel and not output.

“We need to work on our supply channel, they are old. Over fifty years and they on the surface and exposed to all the vagaries of the environment” he stressed further.

The man aspiring to become the next governor of Lagos state says his plan is to overhaul and take all the cables underground, and out of sight, along with the transformers too.

BOG insists once the distribution network is properly taken care of the power problem is taken care of to a large extent.

Expressing his view on why the people of Lagos appear not to be listening to his laudable plan to transform the state and make life easier, the gubernatorial aspirant insist the media has a lot to do in that regard.

He charged the media to be critical of the candidates and their plans and present issues at stake to the populace in manners that will help the voters make an informed choice.

Babatunde Gbadamosi was a top level player in the popular activist group in the diaspora, NADECO.

He worked with others to let the world know the misdeeds of the military government as part of efforts that enthroned democracy in Nigeria.

But unlike other opportunists, he didn’t rush back home to “share the spoils of victory” and be a part of the new government.

Gbadamosi insists he wants to become Lagos governor because he believes he can make things better and the people deserve better than they are getting.

Societynow.ng gathered specific details of the gubernatorial candidate’s plan to transform Lagos is contained in an about to be unveiled blueprint aptly named “Gbadamosi Plan For Lagos”.
