Why Police Car Jumper Dino Melaye Is Desperate To Stay In The Shadow Of Public Glare

Senator who jumped out of a police car window to evade arraignment for allegedly  providing arms for criminals, Dino Melaye is keen to stay in the shadow of public glare.

“He doesn’t want to be talked about, reported about for now” a source stated emphatically.

The publicity lover who loves to flaunt his extravagant possessions is said to be trying to find a political solution to his problem.

Dino, who is very much at war with his state Governor Yahaya Bello jumped out of the window of a moving police van to avoid arraignment by the police in his state capital Lokoja – Kogi state – for allegedly providing arms for criminals.

He claimed his life unsafe in Kogi state as the reason for adopting the desperate tactic.

Those who should know claimed it has more to do with the shame of a public parade in handcuffs and remand in prison custody in a state where he has portrayed self as “the main political pillar”.

Melaye is one of the major influences in the Senate while Governor Bello is one of the golden sons of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The two men – though in the same political party – became bitter enemies over control of the party in Kogi state.

They have vowed to “finish” (wreck) each other in all ways possible.

Melaye who was eventually arraigned on a stretcher, remanded in police custody in Lokoja – but later ordered moved to an Abuja hospital by the court claims the governor behind his travails.

Those who should know disclosed that obviously coming to terms that the powers behind the person after him more than he can face headlong, Melaye is said to be exploring finding a political solution to his problem.

“But first, he needs to stay off the public glare and work under the general perception that the public is no longer interested in the case to secure favorable terms” a societynow.ng learned.

Those who should know disclosed this is why Dino has not attempted any ‘’publicity attracting stunt” since his consignment to the Abuja hospital.

And he’s said to be urging his handlers to ensure things stay same till he comes up with terms that would allow his enemies to “let him be”.
