The Nigeria Police Force, through operatives of the Special Tactical Squad (STS), has arrested three key members of a notorious armed robbery and car-snatching syndicate operating across Kaduna State and the Federal Capital Territory.

Acting on actionable intelligence, operatives of the STS, between 14th and 19th August 2026, conducted coordinated operations across Kaduna State and Abuja, leading to the arrest of Ahmed Saidu, a.k.a. Diamond ‘M’, Alex Gabriel, a.k.a. Junior ‘M’, and Ahmed Mahudu, a.k.a. Diamond ‘M’, in connection with a series of armed robbery incidents involving the snatching of vehicles at gunpoint.

During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to their involvement in the criminal activities and implicated one Yakubu Yewa, a.k.a. Y/Come, who is identified as the kingpin of the syndicate. Investigation revealed that the said suspect is currently in custody at the Kuje Correctional Centre, where he is standing trial for armed robbery.

Further investigation indicates that the alleged kingpin coordinated and directed the syndicate’s armed robbery operations, as well as the disposal of stolen vehicles both within Nigeria and outside the country.

During the operations, operatives recovered one (1) red Toyota Corolla and one (1) army-colour Volkswagen Golf 3 vehicle.

The Nigeria Police Force reaffirms its commitment to dismantling criminal networks, protecting lives and property, and ensuring that perpetrators of violent crimes are brought to justice.
