Futile Effort!…Fayemi, Ojudu, Oni Others Reject Move By Asiwaju Tinubu To Produce Consensus Guber Candidate For Ekiti APC

Emerging details have it that Minister Kayode Fayemi and the other 32 aspirants jostling to become the candidate of the All Progressives Congress have rejected moves to agree on a consensus candidate.

The move was initiated by party leaders led by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at a meeting held in Abuja yesterday – Tuesday May 8 2018.

The party leaders staged the meeting after the planned shadow election to produce party candidate on Saturday May 5 2018 ended in violence – during counting.

In order to avoid a repeat of the shameful affair, different options are being considered – including the rejected approach of a consensus candidate.

A new shadow election is planned for Friday May 11 2018.

The Ekiti Gubernatorial election is scheduled for Saturday July 15 2018.

Rival party in charge of the state government, People’s Democratic Party already produced deputy governor Olusola Eleka as party candidate in a rancor free process.
