Why Only 2 Lagos APC Executives Got Back Their Positions

Details available have it that only two members of the Lagos state Executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) got back their positions in Saturday’s congress.

They are Seye Oladejo (Publicity Secretary) and Jumoke Okoya-Thomas (Women Leader).

They got re-elected in the rare purge that ousted Tunde Balogun as the state chairman of the APC and over thirty others.

Societynow.ng gathered that the sins of Balogun particularly lay in the conducts of the July 24, 2021, Local Government election in Lagos state as well as the ward congresses of a couple of weeks back.

He was accused of stepping on very big toes based on the way he handled the affairs.

“The talks are that it took a strong pull by Governor (Babajide) Sanwo-Olu for the interests of those that put Balogun in position to be protected, especially in the ward congresses” Societynow.ng learned.

“Powers that be in the state were not happy with Balogun and his co-travelers and fuelled by the dark campaigns by those out for them, the consensus was that it was time for them to go” societynow.ng gathered.

Emerging information claimed that Oladejo and Okoya-Thomas leveraged influences within the heart of the strongest political power in Lagos state to cling to their positions in what is widely labeled a very rare purge.
