It is very true.

Iyiola Omisore, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party has opted to support Gboyega Oyetola the flag bearer of the ruling All Progressives Congress to win the Osun state gubernatorial election.

The deal was reportedly perfected early this morning, Wednesday, September 26 2018.

A high powered delegation of the national players in the ruling All Progressives Congress which includes Party National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole, Governor’s Ibikunle Amosun and Kayode Fayemi struck the deal which got Omisore to back them in the make or mar rerun election scheduled for Thursday, September 27 2018.

The rerun election is scheduled to take place in seven polling units with the larger percentage of votes at stake falling into Omisore’s stronghold.

Insiders Reveal When Omisore Will Announce Whether To Support Oyetola Or Adeleke In Osun Guber

But why did Omisore not back the Demola Adeleke, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party?

Sources confirmed to societynow.ng that after Senate President Bukola Saraki, who is the national leader of the PDP spoke with Omisore, the SDP candidate and his team found the “approach brought to the negotiation table by the Adeleke team very offensive”.

“They were arrogant and treated the matter like its either Omisore takes what they offer or walk” societynow.ng learned.

The deeply seated source was silent on details of the offer and counter between the Omisore and Adeleke camps.

Societynow.ng learned that this development is a far cry from the seriousness the Oyetola camp brought to the situation at hand.

“The APC came with a more serious approach and greater respect” an Omisore loyalist asserted.

Societynow.ng learned the issue of respect and thoughts of the might of power of incumbency played major roles in helping Omisore pledge allegiance to the Oyetola camp in the tomorrow’s rerun election.

Omisore left the PDP to become the gubernatorial candidate of the SDP as a result of “internal wrangling that greatly diminished” his political influence and clout within the party.

“Obviously, those in the PDP in Osun state are putting the interests at stake in the conflict that forced Omisore out of the party before what it takes to work with him to win the gubernatorial election in Thursday’s rerun election” a source pointed out to societynow.ng.

The investigation by societynow.ng revealed the Demola Adeleke’s camp are emboldened in the manner they relate with Omisore based on the conviction that the influence of their deputy governorship candidate would contain the clout of Omisore.

The PDP’s deputy governorship candidate is identified as a Prince from Ile Ife and also a serving member of the Federal House of Representatives.

“Four out of the seven polling units for the rerun falls into the constituency he shares with Omisore, Ife People would rather vote to have a Deputy Governor than another four years of APC” an Adeleke supporter insists.

Multiple sources, however, insists Omisore posses a far stronger political structure, influence and clout than Adeleke’s running mate.

To its advantage, the People’s Democratic Party goes into the rerun election leading with 353 votes and needs less than 50% of the votes at stake to be declared the ultimate winner.

“On record 3498 votes are at stake in the rerun election but the reality is that those who can actually vote are barely above 1000” a keen observer summed up the situation to societynow.ng.
